The Mood Engineer Energy that moves people to action.

Corporate MC, keynote speaker and culture strategist. I move rooms from attendance to activation.

Every room has a mood. You can feel it before anyone says a word.

The philosophy

It shapes how people listen, how leaders lead, how teams collaborate, how customers are treated and how organisations respond to change. It decides whether people merely attend, or actually take part — and whether a strategy stays on the slide or turns into behaviour.

Four waysI engineer the experience

I engineer the energy, thinking and experiences that move people to action.

One capability — four expressions

Lebo Mokoena hosting an awards evening from the podium

MC, host and moderator. I don't read an agenda — I read the room. From executive conferences and leadership summits to awards ceremonies and town halls, I create the rhythm, connection and energy that carry an audience from the first welcome to the final applause. Intelligent, energetic, seamless, human.

Built for

  • Corporate conferences
  • Leadership summits
  • Awards & gala evenings
  • Town halls
  • Strategy launches
  • Panel discussions
A hand on a shoulder — a private word after the room has cleared

Keynote speaking. The best keynote doesn't simply sound good — it changes something. Storytelling, humour, business insight and practical frameworks that challenge thinking, spark conversation and move an audience toward action. Because inspiration without action is just entertainment.

Signature keynotes

  • The Mood Economy
  • The Human Advantage
  • From Attendance to Activation
  • Culture Doesn't Happen by Accident
  • Engineer Your Energy
A team exercise mid-session on the main stage

Facilitation, leadership alignment and team effectiveness. Great teams don't happen because everyone is in the same room. They happen when people are aligned around what matters, understand their role and feel able to contribute. People support what they help create — so I build the conditions for the right answers to come from the room.

What changes

  • Align — a shared destination
  • Connect — stronger communication
  • Challenge — honest conversation
  • Own — strategy becomes accountability
  • Act — clarity on what happens next

Culture, employee experience and customer experience. Culture is experienced, not announced. Customer experience is delivered by people. And transformation only happens when strategy becomes behaviour. I help organisations connect the experience they create for their people to the one their customers receive.

Where it applies

  • Culture activation

Why The Mood Engineer

Business brain.
Stage energy.
Human connection.

  1. 01

Most event professionals understand the stage.

  2. 02

    Most consultants understand the business.

  3. 03

    Most speakers understand the audience.

  4. —

I work at the intersection of all three.

My working life spans corporate transformation, culture, employee experience, customer experience, leadership and live events. So I don't only understand what happens on the stage. I understand why the organisation put everyone in the room in the first place — and that changes what the day is for.

The mood of a room isn't accidental. It can be engineered.

The distinction

A full room is a logistics result. A moved room is a design result. When the mood changes, behaviour changes — and behaviour is where performance actually lives.

Profile

Lebo Mokoena

What makes an audience lean forward? What makes a customer feel understood? What makes a leader inspire action? That curiosity became a career.

By day I work inside corporate transformation — employee experience, culture, engagement, customer experience, change and leadership. On stage I become The Mood Engineer. Across both, the objective is the same: help people connect with something that matters, and move them to do something about it.

It's also what I bring that most speakers can't. When I host a conference I don't only understand the running order. I understand the reason behind it.
